The Team

DTW Vavasour employs a team of fully trained professionals, with experience of many different communication techniques. The team is led by Directors Robin Treacher and Charlie Vavasour and comprises account handlers, designers and administration.

Directors

Charlie Vavasour Charlie Vavasour MCIPR

Managing Director

Qualifications: BA Honours Degree in Politics and Business from Oxford Brookes University. CIPR Diploma

Experience: Charlie began his career as a Public Affairs Consultant working in Westminster. Following a brief stint at the Sunday Express Newspaper he moved into PR and practised in Australia, Malaysia and New Zealand before returning to the UK in 1997. He specialises in PR; copywriting; public affairs; marketing and events, specifically in the government, business-to-business and waste sectors.

Clients include: Council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence (CHRE), Cory Environmental, Black Cat Fireworks, South East England Regional Assembly (SEERA) and the East Kent Partnership.

Robin Treacher Robin Treacher MCAM FCIPR MInstD

Board Director and Company Secretary

Qualifications: Qualified journalist (NCTJ). Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, gained CAM Diploma (distinction in Advertising). Member of the Institute of Directors.

Experience: Robin Has over 30 years' experience in the industry, formerly as a journalist dealing with local/national newspapers and local TV/radio and then in local government in London, Leicester and Cleveland. He joined DTW in 1988 as a founding director and specialises in strategic public relations; crisis PR and media training; planning, environment and local government. He is Chair of the CIPR Local Government Group.

Lynne Overett Lynne Overett

Account Director

Qualifications: Diploma of Waste Management

Lynne is an account director at DTW Vavasour with more than twenty five years experience in public relations and communications. Lynne has recently joined the DTW Vavasour team from the private industry sector where her main focus in the last ten years has been on planning and environmental issues associated with the cement industry. She was responsible for the communications and community engagement programme for a major new cement plant proposed in Kent. Lynne also developed a successful communications strategy for the UK's leading end of life tyre processing company.

In addition Lynne has worked in the paper recycling industry and with local authorities on waste management and recycling initiatives. Lynne spearheaded the early recycling campaigns for Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council and headed up various waste minimisation initiatives promoted by Kent local authorities.

In addition, Lynne has also worked for television in the south east.

Emma Batchelor Emma Batchelor

Account Director

Emma is an account director at DTW Vavasour with ten years' experience in marketing and public relations. Recently joined from Trimedia Harrison Cowley, Emma has worked on a range of Public Sector and private industry clients, focusing extensively on environmental and construction-related industries.

Previous clients include the Waste & Resources Action Programme (WRAP), where Emma was responsible for creating the communications strategy for the Organics programme, highlighting the benefits of using high quality compost to regenerate brownfield land. Other clients included ConstructionSkills, the sector skills council for construction, where Emma created the UK-wide Regional PR strategy for the client, and was responsible for the delivery of the programme across the client's 10 area offices.

In addition, Emma has also worked with a range of large blue-chip companies such as Reuters and Microsoft, as well as smaller organisations such as AvantGo, Catnic and Bewator Security Systems.

Kate Mair Kate Mair ACIM

Senior Account Manager

Qualifications: BA (Hons) in Public Relations, CIM Professional Diploma in Marketing (awarded Top Marketing Student in Kent 2004 by the institute).

Experience: Kate has several years' experience in the public sector providing campaign support to a local government communications unit on a variety of projects including corporate and service marketing. Her experience is in project management, devising marketing communications plans, creative writing and print and media buying. She is also used to managing marketing budgets, implementing style guidelines and working with external suppliers.

Clients include: Woking Borough Council, Kent Highway Services, Waste Watch, SITA, Kent County Council, Mid Kent Water and Dover District Council.

Vanessa Chance Vanessa Chance

Account Manager

Qualifications: BA (Hons) English, King's College London, CIM Professional Diploma in Marketing, CIPR Professional Diploma in Public Relations.

Vanessa has four years experience in marketing and PR, specialising in media relations within the financial sector, as well as extensive experience of the printing industry. Her experience includes planning and managing media relations strategies, pro-active and re-active communications, and developing creatives for marketing campaigns.

Vanessa worked for the Institute of Financial Services prior to working for DTW Vavasour and managed the Treating Customers Fairly campaign, which was short-listed for a Money Marketing Financial Services Award in 2006.

Clients include: Covanta Energy, Cory Environmental, Surrey Waste Management and Mid Kent Water.

Jessica Cotton Jessica Cotton

Account Executive

Qualifications: BA (First Class with Hons) in Applied Social Sciences, Canterbury Christchurch University, Kent.

Jessica joined the team in 2006, having returned to the UK from time spent abroad since graduating in 2004. Jessica has experience of working within the voluntary and public sectors, and now contributes to a number of the company's accounts, providing support to media relations and communications campaigns.

Jessica was awarded a scholarship at Bournemouth University for Academic Excellence and is currently furthering her communications qualifications by undertaking the CAM Diploma in Marketing Communications.

Edel Mooney Edel Mooney

Account Executive

Qualifications: LLB (Hons) Common and Civil Law with French, Queen's University, Belfast; LLM (distinction) International Law with International Relations, University of Kent, Canterbury; Certificate in Advanced French for Business.

Experience: Edel has worked in the Education and Financial sectors since graduating. Before joining DTW Vavasour in 2007, she gained experience in public affairs and strategic communications in London and Belfast, where her responsibilities included stakeholder mapping and press monitoring.

Craig Francis Craig Francis

Graphic Designer

Experience: Craig has spent over eight years enhancing his skills in design with a major financial services organisation. Combining his knowledge of design, print, and advertising with a creative mind, one of his major functions was being responsible for the identity of a key financial services' annual industry awards ceremony. Craig was also a partner in the creation of a major corporate rebranding and identity update.

Clients include: Woking Borough Council, South Kent College and East London Waste Authority.

Ros Treacher Ros Treacher

Office Manager

Qualifications: BA Combined Hons in English and French; Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, qualified teacher and diploma in TESOL teaching.

Experience: Following several years' teaching and a number of years in comittee secretariats and working on Inner Area Programmes in London Boroughs, Ros founded Euro-Bureau, a translation and interpreting company which also organised visits to Brussels and Strasbourg for groups lobbying the European Parliament. She currently undertakes administrative, proof-reading and quality assurance duties.

Hattie Vavasour Hattie Vavasour

Finance Manager

Hattie joined DTW in October 2005 following a long career in Financial Services, including 15 years working for the Halifax. She runs the company's accounts and is responsible for managing suppliers.
