DTW growth leads to new company and change of location for Southern office

DTW, the public sector specialist PR agency, has announced that as part of its expansion plans its southern office has become a separate company.

Charlie Vavasour has become the Managing Director of the new company, which has been rebranded DTW Vavasour. It is moving from its Canterbury base to new premises in Ashford, Kent to house its growing team. In addition to his existing role as a Director of DTW, Robin Treacher will also become a Director of DTW Vavasour and will be based in the Ashford office from the end of September.

Both DTW, which is based in Guisborough, and DTW Vavasour, will continue to collaborate and work closely together on projects that span across the UK while working independently with clients in their own geographic areas.

DTW is one of the UK's leading regional agencies. Set up in 1988, it specialises in working with the public sector, particularly local government, and also has a growing number of private sector clients who need to communicate with and understand the public sector market.

The agency provides a full range of communications services including PR, marketing, e-communications solutions, interim management and design to its clients across the country.

DTW founding Director Robin Treacher opened DTW's southern office in 2001 with three staff members, including Charlie Vavasour. Since then it has more than trebled in size and currently employs eleven staff, all of who will transfer to the new company.

Charlie Vavasour, Managing Director of DTW Vavasour, said: "This is a very exciting development for DTW which will enable us to expand further at both ends of the country while maintaining our dominant position in our specialist sectors. The company has seen substantial growth over the last five years and I am confident that this puts us in a great position to continue that growth in the future."

Pete Whelan, Managing Director of DTW, said: "Clients won't see any change in the service we deliver as a result of this. Both offices will continue to work together closely on communications projects across the country. This move allows the two offices to focus clearly on their own future growth and expansion whilst maintaining our nationwide coverage and full service capability."

Recent growth has not been restricted to the creation of the new company, as both offices have recently recruited new consultants at Account Director and Manager level.

Robin Treacher and Pete Whelan retain ownership of DTW's northern office, which employs 14 people at its base in Guisborough on Teesside. Robin Treacher will sit on both boards.

Ends.
