Covanta appoints PR agency DTW Vavasour

US firm Covanta Energy has appointed public sector specialist agency DTW Vavasour to provide media relations and marketing support for its UK operations.

Covanta, the world's largest developer and operator of Energy from Waste (EfW) projects, operate independent power facilities that generate electricity in the United States and Europe. The account will see the raising of Covanta's UK profile and demonstrate the US firm's compatibility with UK waste management and public sector markets.

DTW Vavasour now add Covanta to its portfolio of over 30 clients since breaking away from its Northern roots at the beginning of September. DTW will support the company in campaigns over an initial period of 12 months.

Robin Treacher, Director at DTW Vavasour, said: "This account combines two of our agency's specialist sectors of local government and waste management, and we are looking forward to using our expertise to work with such a well-established international company."

The account value is £50,000 and is likely to start with media relations work in the procurement and local government based press.
