News7 April 2008 Robin Treacher comes out on top in industry pollRobin Treacher, Board Director and Company Secretary of DTW Vavasour has been named in PR Week’s ‘Power Book’ as one of the most influential people in the PR sector. PR Week’s ‘Power Book’ pinpoints the 500 most influential practitioners in the industry, and serves to name the top industry figures, as well as their favourite nightspots, ideal dinner dates and the best piece of advice they’ve received. According to the poll, PR professionals are a romantic group with most choosing their partner as their ideal dinner date or former US President Bill Clinton. Always one to buck the trend, Robin would prefer to partake of some rosé with famous jazz musician and broadcaster Humphrey Lyttleton, and holds strongly to the advice to not believe anything you cannot verify yourself. Robin, who is the current chair of the CIPR’s Local Government Group and former head of communications at London Borough of Hackney, Leicester City Council and Cleveland Councils, co-founded DTW Advertising and Marketing in 1988. In October 2006 he joined forces with Charlie Vavasour to found DTW Vavasour Ltd. Other figures named in the journal are NSPCC director of communications, John Grounds, Vodafone’s director of corporate affairs, Simon Lewis and chief of strategy at Downing Street’s Stephen Carter.
