Case Study

East Kent Partnership

Background

The East Kent Partnership champions the economic, social and environmental regeneration of the Canterbury, Dover and Thanet districts. The Partnership ultimately aims to make East Kent ๋the place where people want to be'.

Brief

After being awarded the contract following a successful tender, DTW was commissioned to provide the Partnership with full service communications support. DTW's strategy was to not only raise the organisation's profile among its internal and external stakeholders, as well as the people and businesses of East Kent, but also to look to generate a sense of local pride among residents.

Approach

DTW Vavasour has worked with the East Kent Partnership since it was established in 2004. As part of our comprehensive communications plan, we undertook major design projects including conference reports, branded stationery, a ten-year strategy document and quarterly newsletters. DTW Vavasour also built, and continues to maintain, the Partnership's website. The site offers clear and accessible information for Partners and the public on the Partnership's work.

On appointment, DTW Vavasour formulated a programme of media relations that helped to raise the Partnership's profile; this enabled the Partnership to stand out in its crowded market.

Outcomes

In order to raise the Partnership's profile, we secured a monthly column by the Chairman in the region's Sunday newspaper and regular interviews with the Executive Director on local radio stations. We also secured feature articles regarding the Partnership in the regional business press.
